about

So long suckers! At least that's how you felt when you purchased your one-way shuttle tickets off planet. But more existential reflections manifest on takeoff as you survey the drowned, denuded Earth below. Surely things will turn out different in your new world? This is the fundamental question posed by the Toxic Bears' track, Atlantis.

lyrics

All this will happen again
And it makes me kind of sad
As I look out of the transport window
I think of all the things that I know

I think about the drowning earth
I think about the stratosphere
I think about the pain of birth
I think about the smell of beer
Water's rising, it's surprising
Now there is no compromising
Rain keeps falling, millions squalling
Now there is no forestalling

I'm safe and dry, except for my eyes
All those robots couldn't save New York
Never again will I eat pork

Then when it comes to an end
It starts all over again
Here and there are the stars
Take me way off to Mars
Take me away...

All this has happened before
And it will happen some more
As I look out of the transport window
I think of all the things that I know

I think about the rising seas
I think about the worlds gone wrong
I think about their desperate pleas
I think about my favourite song
It keeps raining, they're complaining
Now the boats are really straining
Time for getting, not for fretting
Now's the time for a new setting

I'm safe and sound, far from the ground
All those robots couldn't save Siam
Never again will I eat lamb

Then when it comes to an end
It starts all over again
Here and there are the stars
Take me way off to Mars
Take me away...

Rain, rain, going insane
Fire, take me away
Rain, rain, going insane
Fire, take me away

All this will happen again
And it makes me kind of sad
